Gun videos live or die on steady footage. A good camera tripod keeps the shot framed, smooths out pans and stands up to wind and muzzle blast at the range.

What to look for
- A pan-tilt or fluid head for smooth side-to-side pans.
- A quick-release plate so the camera swaps between tripods fast.
- A phone clamp or cold-shoe mount for phones and small lights.
- A center hook to hang a bag and add weight.
- Enough height to film over a bench or barricade.

Range safety and setup
Keep the camera and tripod behind the firing line and out of the lane. Muzzle blast can rock light tripods, so spread the legs wide and weight the center. Rubber feet grip concrete; spikes hold in dirt.
